Once your painting is purchased, Viarupa will send you special design packaging products that are resistant to impacts and suitable for the size of the painting. Also have the following supplies ready:

  • Tissue paper
  • Durable plastic bag
  • Duct tape
  • Cardboard box
  • Utility Knife

After receiving the materials and completing the list, carefully follow the steps below for packaging.

Step 1 - Make sure the painting is completely dry.

Step 2 - Cut the tissue paper to be larger than the surface of the painting and wrap it around the surface of the painting. Tape it to the frame of the picture from the back with paper tape. Remember that any material that comes into contact with the surface of the artwork must be clean. We recommend that you avoid factors that will leave marks on the surface of the painting during packaging.

Step 3 - The packaging material should wrap around the edges of the painting like a frame. If the dimensions of the material is larger than the size of the picture, you can cut it according to the dimensions of the painting with the help of a utility knife.

Step 4 - After making sure that the painting is completely placed in the frame you created with the packaging material, take the painting aside and tape it with paper tape at the joint corners.

Step 5 - Place the painting inside the frame you created. Lay one of the cardboards we sent on the ground and place the painting (with its back facing the ground) on the cardboard.

Step 6 - Cover the surface of the painting with tissue paper and put the product that is equal to the long side of the painting, that says "separation product" on it, on the surface of the picture. Place the second cardboard on the divider product and fix the edges of the cardboard on both surfaces with paper tape. Use the “H” taping method.

Step 7 - Add the Artwork Care Guide.

Step 8 - Once you are sure that the painting will no longer move, remove the package and wrap it in a durable bag. Use duct tape to cover any areas where water could enter and damage.

Step 9 - When you go to the cargo company for the delivery, put a Viarupa label on the package stating that it is an artwork and write warnings on the package indicating the directions in which the package will be opened.
